Resident Assistant (RA)
A Resident Assistant (RA) is a trained student leader who works to create and maintain a supportive community for residential students. Each RA is assigned to work within a specific community of students within the Residence Halls, Apartments, or the International Living Center. RAs host a variety of social, academic, and cultural activities for their residents; act as a resource and mentor, and address any safety or security concerns that occur in their areas. RAs also take turns providing 24-hour emergency on-call support to support students with any safety or security concerns that arise. Service Learning Student Assistant
Assist Abbey Asher, the Service-Learning Coordinator for College Nine and College Ten. The student provides support for and co-facilitates Esprit de Corps, a service-learning course offered in the fall, winter and spring quarters. The student facilitates the placement of significant numbers of student volunteers with schools and non-profits in the Santa Cruz community. Excellent communication and computer skills are required as well as experience with service learning and the Esprit de Corps class itself. Alternative Spring Break (ASB) Leader
Upper Division College Nine students with experience in service learning through Praxis, Esprit de Corps, or another comparable organization, are invited to apply to lead an ASB in our local Santa Cruz Community over spring break.
