College Nine Student Senate
What is C9 Senate?
The College Nine Senate is a university-recognized student government that is comprised of College Nine students. College Nine Senators represent the students of College Nine on issues that affect the College Nine community and act as a liaison between university officials and the students.
Weekly Meetings
The College Nine Senate meets every Thursday night from 7:00 - 8:00pm on Zoom; contact us through email to get the Zoom link. New students are always welcome!
Senate develops and upholds the international theme of College Nine while raising awareness on important international issues with our fellow students.
Senators meet weekly to discuss issues and ideas affecting the experiences for College Nine students. Senate sends representation to campus-wide and UC organizations, while also allocating funds to many College Nine organizations and programs.
How can I get involved?
Any College Nine Affiliate can gain voting status and become an official Senator by attending three consecutive meetings. All College Nine affiliates are welcome to attend any meeting throughout the year.
What are some events College Nine Senate sponsored?
College Nine Senate has planned and/or funded student publications, culture nights, movie nights, bone marrow registration drives, conferences, guest speakers, and much more!
What are some benefits of joining C9 Senate?
By attending regular College Nine Senate meetings, you will hear about the very latest events being planned in College Nine and the current issues being discussed on campus. You will have the opportunity to voice your opinion by voting, sharing your views, and impacting your College Nine community. You will be able to gain valuable leadership skills and event-planning experience as well as connection with various leaders and administration.

Funding Requests
If you would like to request funding from the College Nine Student Senate, please fill out the College Nine Senate Funding Request Form.
Spring quarter has two rounds of funding requests. The first funding request round will be due on April 19th at 11:59 PM. The form will be closed between the due date and the funding review meeting. All submissions for the first round will be reviewed on April 27th beginning at 7:00 PM.
The second funding request round will open a week after the first round will be reviewed and will be due on May 17 at 11:59 PM. The form will be closed between the due date and the funding review meeting. All submissions for the second round will be reviewed on May 26 beginning at 7:00 PM.
Senate funding requests are reviewed in the order in which they are received. We do our best to respond promptly.
If we have further questions, we may ask for your organization to send a representative to present on your behalf.
***Guidelines for Automatic Funding Request Denials:
- If organizations outside of College Nine do not adhere to the funding limit of $200, they will automatically be rejected and asked to reapply
- Requests made to cover food costs will automatically be denied
- Travel costs typically not considered, unless at least 25% of attendees are College Nine affiliates
- All events must allow for College Nine affiliates to participate or be present, otherwise they are typically not considered
- We do not typically fund costume expenses
