Rules of Thumb...

  • Please check the mailroom nine website frequently, as hours are subject to change, especially during the first 2 weeks of school, holidays, and finals week.
  • Due to the expected increase of packages, the staff cannot search for individual packages. We strongly urge you to wait until you receive an email notification from C9 Mailroom that your package has been delivered, logged in and ready for pickup. Notices from vendors stating that your package has arrived does not mean that the package has been delivered to your mailroom.
  • Please refrain from purchasing liquid materials such as detergents.  If it leaks, it causes a tremendous problem and can contaminate other packages.
  • Groceries and Perishable Items - Blue Apron, HelloFresh, DoorDash, Safeway, etc. Grocery deliveries are tricky. We recommend:
    • Scheduling deliveries during hours of operation. We are not staffed in the evenings or on weekends, and boxes delivered outside of business hours run the risk of being stolen, perishing, or being disposed of.
    • Picking up food deliveries as soon as possible. The Mailroom has no refrigeration, no air conditioning, and is often warm and stuffy. Grocery deliveries left in the Mailroom for prolonged periods of time may expire, attracting ants and rodents. College Nine is not responsible for the condition of food/grocery deliveries. Grocery/food deliveries not picked up within 3 days may be disposed for staff health and safety.
  • We strongly recommend not ordering anything to the mailroom that you cannot move yourself with the use of a handcart, as mailroom staff are not permitted to assist with moving heavy packages.
    • If you need to borrow a handcart, you will be required to leave your SID with mailroom staff, to be picked up upon the handcart's return.

On behalf of the College Nine mailroom, we wish you a wonderful school year!

All students living in College Nine housing are assigned a mailbox.

Please note: All mailboxes are reassigned every academic year beginning in the Fall.

For both new and continuing students, an email containing your mailbox information will be sent to your UCSC email account.

If you change colleges during the academic year, a mailbox at C9/JRL may be assigned to your after you've canceled your mailbox at your previous college. Please complete this form to formally request a new mailbox at C9/JRL.

Can I get a mailbox if I live off campus?

Yes! If you are living off campus and affiliated with College Nine, please complete this form to formally request a mailbox at C9/JRL.

How do I pick up my packages?

When you receive a package at your college address, an email will be sent to your UCSC email. Once you have received this email, you may pick up your package by presenting either your student ID, or state-issued ID at the mailroom, during posted open hours only. Delivery notifications from carriers do not constitute delivery to the college mailroom. Please wait to pick up any package until after you receive an email from the college mailroom.

Packages are not kept indefinitely. Packages that are not picked up in a timely manner are deemed unclaimed and then returned to sender.

If this is an after-hours emergency and the mailroom is not open, please contact the RA on-call: C9 @ 831-212-6158 / JRL @ 831-419-6488.
