IMPORTANT UPDATES:

• Academic Standing: If you have any questions or concerns about your Academic Standing after Spring 2024, please review our webpage for Academic Standing. Students who are in Subject to Disqualification will be sent information about their standing and next steps to their UCSC email. Please check your UCSC email for information on next steps.

• New Students: For our New Frosh Students starting UCSC in Fall 2024, you will be invited in late July to our Virtual Group Advising Presentations taking place from August 5th to August 8th, 2024. During the Group Advising Presentations, we will review how to choose classes for your first term, enrollment resources and tips for your first quarter! For any questions related to the Summer Orientation Course, please contact the Orientation Office at orientation@ucsc.edu.

Services

Peer Advisors

Are well-trained and compassionate student leaders whose job is to help and support you! Peer Advisors have personal experience as current students and Advisors often rely on them for insight on the student experience. Peer Advisors can support with:

• General graduation/GE checks
• Helping with enrollment issues
• Understanding the next steps with a form
• Assistance in setting up an appointment with a John R. Lewis Advisor
• Identifying campus resources

Our in-person front desk is managed by our Peer Advisers. They are also available Monday through Friday via Google Chat for any quick questions!

Email Advising

College Nine Advisors can respond to quick inquiries via email, including completing forms that require our signature. A College Nine Advisor will respond within 2-3 business days.

For any urgent concerns, please type "URGENT" in your email subject line.

Zoom Drop-In Advising

Visit us during our Zoom Drop-In Hours for quick express advising meetings with a College Nine Advisor. Once you join the Zoom Meeting, you will be placed in a virtual waiting room until our Peer Advisor is able to greet you. From there, they will ask you how we can support you and connect you with an available College Advisor. This is a first-come basis service. The wait time can vary depending on the time of the quarter and upcoming deadlines.

Important note: Due to security and safety reasons, students must be logged into their UCSC Zoom Account to enter the Zoom Room. For any students that do not have an active UCSC Zoom Account, please email 9jrlcpa@ucsc.edu to schedule an appointment with a College Nine Advisor.

Summer 2024 Hours (July 9th - August 1st): Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 1:30pm-3:30pm PST. (Last student is seen 15 minutes before the end of Drop-In.)
