Garima Desai, College Nine alumna and commencement speaker, who graduated in 2020 with a double major in ENVS and Economics, won a Rhodes Scholarship. She is the first recipient in UCSC’s history.

UCSC well represented at White House student loan bill signing

A UC Santa Cruz alumnus and a current student watched in the Oval Office earlier this month as President Obama signed the historic bill that cuts student loan interest rates. Another alum helped lobby for the bill.
